The participant of European Design Upgrade presented design cover for prostheses in the finals of the Invictus Games
17 December, 2020The team of the social project Changeable will create textile covers for limb prostheses and clothing for the participants of the Invictus Games.
The cover for the participants of the Invictus Games 2.0 depicts patriotic symbols and symbols of competitions. According to the design authors, gifts from Changeable represent the spirit of brotherhood and indomitability — the Games’ central values. The K.Fund foundation, the UNIT.City innovation park and the public organization GoLOCAL helped to prepare attributes for the winners of the competition.
The goal of the Changeable project is to provide people with amputations with the opportunity to change the appearance of their prostheses easily.
“From personal communication with people with amputations, I know that the appearance of prostheses is essential for their self-acceptance. Therefore, my team and I have made removable textile covers for prostheses of hands and feet, which are quickly put on and are an affordable way to change the prosthesis design,”
said the author of the Changeable project Olya Sinyakevych.
This year Changeable became the finalists of the international project European Design Upgrade and represented Ukraine at the Dutch Design Week.
The Invictus Games 2.0 is a multi-sport competition for wounded military and veterans. The Invictus Games 2.0 participants were representative of all security and defence sectors: the Armed Forces, the National Security Service, the State Tax Service, the Ministry of Internal Affairs, the Security Service of Ukraine and volunteer battalions. “We are grateful to all partners, participants and fans for their continued support of the wounded military in sports rehabilitation and social adaptation. We are convinced that the history of the leather participant is an Indicator of Indomitability and an inspiring example for millions of citizens,”
