Ukrainian Cultural Foundation will provide financial support K.Fund for a design project

Kyiv, August 4, 2020. — The Vasyl Khmelnytsky foundation K.Fund implements the project “Strengthening the role of Ukrainian design: preparing Ukrainian designers to participate in the Dutch Design Week 2020” with the financial support of the Ukrainian Cultural Foundation (UCF) within the framework of the program “N.O.R.D. Lot 2 Mobility and exchange programs”. The project is part of the international program “European Design Upgrade: Transnational Capacity Building” (EDU). The aim of the initiative is to facilitate the exchange of knowledge, experience and ideas in the field of culture and arts, as well as the discovery of new practices and names.

The Ukrainian Cultural Foundation is providing a grant in the amount of more than UAH 530 thousand, which will cover more than half of all project costs.

The transnational EDU project is supported by the EU’s Creative Europe program. Its goal is to enable talented Ukrainian professionals involved in creative industries to participate and present their projects at the key European event in the field of design — Dutch Design Week.

As part of this project, selected Ukrainian artists will take part in five thematic hackathons, where they will work in cross-sectoral teams to solve specific problems of society, the city’s ecosystem, people with special needs, ecology, business and develop design prototypes for their own projects. Three best ideas will be presented at an exhibition in Eindhoven, Netherlands.
